Joshua Settles
Rev. Joshua Settles is the fourth child and third son of Pastor Fred Settles and the late Irma Reese Settles. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Modern European History. While a student at UT, he was instrumental in founding the Collegiate Black Christian Fellowship, served four terms as president of the Love United Gospel Choir and was chair of the Black Cultural Programming Committee.
After graduation, Joshua joined the staff of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. For the past nine years he has served students throughout the state and the nation. He was campus staff for the CBC group he founded, pioneered new ministry among Asian American students at UT, and served as Team Leader Joshua currently serves as Area Director for InterVarsity’s ministry in Tennessee where he provides vision, leadership and oversight for staff ministers throughout the state. He also serves on the national advisory team of InterVarsity’s Black Campus Ministry, is a sought after conference speaker and consultant on issues of cross cultural ministry, student leadership development, strategic planning and discipleship. He has led both urban and international missions’ teams, most recently to Ghana. He is a licensed and ordained preacher and in addition to his service with InterVarsity serves as interim Youth Director at the Nashville Korean Presbyterian Church.
He enjoys good conversation, good food, and good coffee – not always in that order! |
